How to stop my pond from freezing?

Moving water only freezes at much lower temperatures as the movement helps to create heat, hence why rivers rarely freeze over when ponds do. You could try turning your fountain on over night to help stop the pond from freezing. I wouldn't recommend putting salt in the water as i would imagine it wont do your fish much good.
